Video: EU's migration double standard

As the war in Ukraine continues, European Union (EU) nations are mobilizing to welcome people fleeing the conflict. But not everyone seeking safety in Europe receives the same reception and assistance. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams continue to observe people being left to drown at sea, intercepted and pushed back at land and sea borders, denied assistance, and criminalized for seeking safety. The positive response to Ukrainian refugees shows that the EU has always had the tools to provide safe passage and humane reception for all those seeking safety. All they lacked was political will. Everyone seeking asylum, regardless of race, sex, or nationality should receive assistance and protection. Everyone should be treated with dignity.
